Yes, Atlantis Was North America. The Small Island Has Been Found In Tampa!
Mistakes in Plato’s dialogues can be corrected using the actual terrain features on the map. I am including a map link so you can zoom in and out of the city to see the different features Plato described. Notice that the small island of Atlantis is triangular and not circular. Believing the canals were circular was a major reading comprehension mistake:

The island of Atlantis has now been found with three zone of water and two zones of land around it, just as Plato described. The island is in the former city of Atlantis, which is Tampa. Now we can discuss Plato’s story and give him credit for telling the greatest story the world has ever known.
Plato referred to “Atlantis” in several different ways. In some cases, he used the terms “island” and “continent” to mean the same thing:
Atlantis as an island
Atlantis as a continent
Atlantis as a small island
Atlantis as an island continent
Atlantis as half of a whole continent
Atlantis as a part of a boundless continent
Atlantis as a city on a plain in the country of Atlantis
Plato also gave us the relative size of the continent of Atlantis by comparing it to a landmass the size of Libya and Asia put together. You will find that a continent that size would not fit in the Atlantic Ocean. That was an assumption. The landmass Plato described would be larger than the Ocean. However, the size of North America fits Plato’s description of that landmass.
Now we can go back and explain all the terrain features Plato described. The “boundless continent” and the “whole continent” are North America and South America together. Atlantis as a single continent, Atlantis as an island-continent, and Atlantis as an island, all referred to North America. Another small island in the city is also called Atlantis. “Atlantis as a city” on a plain in the country of Atlantis is Tampa Florida. Plato also noted that there was a continent opposite to the continent of Atlantis, which is South America.
With that information, we can correct Plato’s writing based on the map. Also, thousands of subdivisions show where and how the people of Atlantis lived on the Plain. The subdivisions on the plain today look like they did during the time of Atlantis. However, the homes and buildings of Atlantis were washed away.
When Plato published his story of Atlantis, his goal was to capture some of Greek’s lost history. I believe it is time for Plato to get credit for his work. I will be referencing Plato, Donnelly, and other Atlantis researchers to support my side of the theory that Plato’s story is true except for the part that says, “Atlantis sank into the Ocean.” If that theory is correct, North America would be the Island Continent of Atlantis and some of the out-of-place artifacts found in Florida and other coastal states were left behind by the Atlantis floods.
Plato recorded the story as a historical record of Athen’s greatest achievement. That achievement was a victory over the ten kings of Atlantis. When it comes to the archeology of Atlantis, Plato’s dialogues are the only positive academic sources of information available regarding Atlantis.
Convincing people that Atlantis is a true story is the first and main hurdle. The second hurdle is getting them to read or reread the sections of Plato’s story where he describes the city and the birthplace of Atlas. You can find the story online.
