Spent another afternoon at my church owned site with two old homesites on the property. At about 1.5", I got a solid quarter signal and thought clad. Imagine my surprise to see the lovely glow of silver in the form of a 42 Washington. Glancing again in the hole, I saw a smaller disk that turned out to be a 56 Jefferson; the back of the quarter has a faint outline of the nickel on it. I found the usual cast of characters: wheats and clads, with some other unusual finds. Folded almost in half, I found a token with a profile of Gary Cooper on the front; on the back, the phrase, "Paramount Star" and, at the bottom, "Popsicle." I'll begin a search, but might anyone know when this premium appeared? I also found another in the (1968?) series of antique car tokens given away by Sunoco. I really have to get a camera for some of these things. So far, I've been able to leave 44 and 45 Mercuries as appreciation to my host.
