You can detect sand and water anywhere in Sarasota County. And most anywhere in Florida, except in State and National parks, and shipwreck lease or admiralty areas.

99% of Florida beaches are legal to hunt, even in front of hotels and homes, Fla beaches are owned by the public. Only areas you really want to watch out is National Seashore, the cape area (NASA), and the Treasure Coast area. Vero Beach is about the center of the area, runs roughly from Ft Pierce north to a couple miles north of Sebastain Inlet state park, that area you can hunt, just can't hunt in the water as there are treasure hunters who paid for state leases that protect that area, but you can hunt from the mean low tide line to toe of dunes legally there.

State Parks are most time off limits.... Potential fines and they can confisicate your equipment if they think your trying to sneak in knowing it is against the law.

Errk, you and Bill going to make it to Aquanut's cookout? It would be great to see both of you again... :icon_thumright:

Anywhere in Sarasota County is OK except a county park called Stump's Pass where only detecting in the water is allowed (no sand hunting). Some county parks have restrictions where you have to get a permit or sign in.

Thanks for the info !! :icon_thumleft:
