we found fake morgans today!

while going to the locale dump today.we found ten Morgans but when we took
them to the coin shop he said they were fakes( tributes).Can people really make
coins like exact copy's of Morgan's and call them tributes to the Morgan dollar?
Isn't that like printing your own money?My be counterfeiting?

i think you can but it has to say copy on it somewhere. could be wrong though.

If they were not silver, should have been easy to see. IF they are silver, still a nice find with silver going up.

I recently saw a bunch of them at our local flea market. They looked great. No silver contant. They had scratches and ware on them. The only way you could tell they were fake is they were magnetic. The guy even had a few seated fake dollars. Mike.
