we is gonna be busy soon---2 adjacent Colonial farms--over 200 acres

fuggedabout the 4 inches of snow & the nor' easter coming on Tuesday---
got permission for 2 farms dating to late 1700's along a creek. the 2nd was a treat since the barn was rebuilt in 1900 from the original hand formed wood of the 1790's barn. our host gave a complete tour of the property. original barn was erected WITHOUT iron fasteners, just mortise & tenon joints and wood pegs. a stunning example of early wood work. sadly the snow will have us climbing the walls for the next few weeks. a quick exploratory hunt with FMERG (he got skunk) gave up a "V" pair a foot apart at 6 & 10 depths. 1907 & 1890, roachy but a glimpse of what the dirt is hiding

if i had more then 5 minutes to swing the coil i would of found something...but i had to leave as soon as the tour was done
