The best weather gauge I've ever seen was on I got in the Ozarks that was a picture of a donkey with a leather tail and it said:

If the tail is wet, its raining,
If the tail is white, its snowing,
If yoy can't see the tail, its foggy,

and so on...at least it was totally accurate
