About 10 hours detecting this weekend. Friday was my first hunt of the week as it has been raining all week. We had a light rain after work but I didn’t care so I went to a football field on the American army post. Found a silver skull ring, a silver St Christopher pendant made in Italy and about $3.00 in American clad and a couple Euro coins. Only finished half the field Friday so I went back Saturday, detected about 30 minutes when a bunch of soldiers showed up wanting to play football. Was nice they invited me to play but I declined, LOL! I drove by later and watched them for a few minutes, the guys were slipping and sliding all over, was a funny site. Went to the bottom part of a castle where a town had been wiped out by a flood in the mid 1700s, there area should be where the town ended up but I didn’t find much, just a very old looking oval container made of bronze I think. Had to top off my car with some refined black gold so I went a few towns over as gas is cheaper there so I went to a small park while there, found a few Euro coins, a few American pennies and a dime, there was an American housing area across the street until the mid 90s. Went back to the football field Saturday evening and finished it. Here’s the pictures. The football field on post.
A field where the flooded town should have ended up below the castle along a small river. The castle is between the pillars of the bridge in the background, hard to see.
Obverse of a St Christopher pendant, it is not marked silver, just stamped Italy.
Reverse of the St Christopher pendant.
A silver Sterling skull ring, ugly but silver!
Today I went to a nearby drained lake. Rained most of the day with high winds. Went to a boat docking area near the back of the lake, was very muddy and I found nothing but a few lead sinkers for about two hours. Gave up around the lake bed docks and went to the grassy beach area. Managed to find enough Euros to pay for gas and a silver ring, looks like a wedding ring with the name Michael engraved in it with a date.
Date of the silver ring. HH, Mike
