Made it to Northern Mi this weekend. A ton of work to be done at the cabin, but when the sun went down..the Excal came out and I headed for the spot I have dubbed the Leach Pit.(Dont hunt here bare legged)!
This is a huge area of shallow waters that has a seemingly endless supply of targets and every year the sand is arranged a little differently exposing new digs.Went out two nights, from midnight to 3AM each night.

Went through alot of junk to find these and dug many a deep hole....(most targets here are in the 10-12 inch area) but I had a ball! Best of luck to all....Joe

Watch out for the Giant Leach that appears on the full moon.
It will suck you up and spit out the metal objects in the sand.
You are finding some good left overs. HA HA

If you have to hunt this place in the dark, why don't you just use a dredge? Or a sand dredge? I should get busy and start building some of mine (sand dredges) (non-powered) :icon_thumright: Why do you hunt in the dark? Do you work late? Not knocking ya, just curious..........NGE

Great stuff, gotta love that token.

Without giving away where it is, what kind of site it it? Old resort. deserted park, etc.? Very interesting variety of finds in one spot. Kinda' reminds me of Rob's Shark Pit. Thanks for showing them. Monty

Looks like you had a productive couple of night hunts. I don't think I could wade around in the water in the darkness. It's creepy enough in daylight.

Nice gold rings, and old coins!

Nice haul! I love water hunting in old areas! Are you sure those are gold rings? I dig a lot of old brass ones in lakes that look like them.

When Im not working I spend my daylight hours with my family or being productive around the home.Once the family is down for the night I slip out for a moonlight hunt.I enjoy water hunting at night ....very peaceful for me.

Monty...this is a little bay off of a large lake. There are a couple of old road ends there that have made it accessible to the public for many years.Although gone now, there was a hotel just off of the shoreline from 1870ish. The oldest dateable find from this spot was a 1854 half dime.

Mike, I think you got me on one of the rings. The ring with the blue stones is 14k...the other has a kt mark, but after cleaning, I believe there is a GF...so it is probably (once gold plated) brass.
