Got out on Sunday with Smittyman... as always a nice time was had by everyone... especially the junior treasure posse that followed Smittyman around. Just to see those smiling little faces so excited by the prospect of finding treasure... it really warms the heart... oh, who am I kidding... I was just glad that the little vultures weren't circling me!

We hit a school, a couple of parks and some vacant lots... freestyling at it's best. I came up with a '20 Merc (YTD silver#23), a wheatie and a James Monroe dollar coin... plus the usual clad, bottle caps, can slaw and assorted unknown trash.

On Saturday I went to a couple of places. I found this button... I think it is WW2... the rear says "Rex Products New Rochelle, NY". The gilt is all gone, but the detail on it is nice.

I also found this buckle looking thing. It has a flower design on it, and appears to be made of copper. At first I thought it was for a girls hair, but I am not sure. Any info on the ID would be most appreciated.

Thanks for looking.

Congratulations on your 1920 mercury dime. You know I love me some mercs! I believe your button is WWI - WWII great seal button.

REX PRODUCTS CORP * NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. * 1902-WWII

I really like what appears to be for the hair or perhaps a broach.

Why is it the kids always seem to flock around Steve yet they leave you alone? LOL

Awesome finds! the buckle looks like a Victorian dress or scarf buckle.

These new coins do not fair well in the ground. I have found modern pennies that are completely trashed out. Copper pennies, that is a different story, they hold up. But future treasure hunters, all they are going to find of these new coins is trashy disks.

Thanks for the props Jay. It was a nice hunt. We both got silvers.

When I saw the kids gathering around him... again, I just couldn't resist getting a pic for TNet. I was laughing so hard, I could barely hold the phone still.
I snarl at the kids and tell them to go away... and they leave me alone. I swear I think Smittyman gives them candy!

sweet digs TOM! looks like a good time, I like the picture of the audience lol:laughing7:

sweet digs again, unique as well

Great button CT! And doesn't a hunt just feel complete with one old coin? Always does for me

Poor Smittyman! I hate having an audience follow me too. Nice finds.

I was thinking for a scrafe

Nice digs . Thanks for the pics

Nice finds!

Next time it's your turn to play pied piper so Simttyman can make some finds! Lol! Entertaining the crowd!
