Detector(s) used
Garrett Ace 250; Minelab Explorer II
Last time I was not very successful with my metal detector, so I turned to searching for something with my eyes. I noticed that the field which produced much 1930s-1940s stuff before, was plowed and after 2 days raining it was ready to be observed again.
First day as expected was very productive - I found some hemispheres served as lights of the old cars and bikes, some nazi items, and lots of WHW (winterhilfswerk) - different low budget pins were a source of money for army and for some other purposes, I think I wrought some info before.

Next day overview - part of sigarette-case made of silver was the best find.

Sunday - remains only.

And just to come a bit back to MDing - this buckle is the buckle of german hunter from 1910s (you can see it here- http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Imperial/photos/G013256full.jpg
Both parts were found on different fields and time.

Fantastic finds! I bet there is plenty of stuff to be found under the soil with you finding that kind of stuff onto of it :o

Excellent finds,
I assume this was in Bavaria??
That's it, I going to ask some local farmers for permission. I'm looking at a local town of Memmelsdorf.
I might have someone write me a note to show to the farmers, Deutsch not so good ::)
I have been using the following site for my map recon:http://wikimapia.org/country/Germany/Bayern/

88irocarmy: I checked you link - there are the same air photos as used in Google Earth, where navigation is a bit more comfortable and you can magnify the picture more, too.
Most of farmers usually have nothing against even with my bad German too, but be careful with planted fields - they do not like any activity on them :)

Awesome finds Sand, great! That new detector works very well. My new detector is also very good, the Minelabs are nice machines. I hope we can get together and have a fun run with our new machines sometime. HH, Mike
