Nate started his spring break last Friday. Instead of going down to Daytonna beach and chasing girls he wisely went detecting with me.

Friday the 13th
Friday we went to an old park that has produced well for us but is really getting harder to find keepers. I went in a part of the park that doesn’t have a lot of targets but we haven’t hunted much. Was rewarded with this Merc:
After some cleaning:
Saturday the 14th
Saturday we had a little more time. There is a park I have been meaning to hunt for some time. There was some construction near the park and as we were making our detour we noticed an old school. Couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
The site was a little tricky due to the obvious rework that had been done, the trash and the mineralization. I did manage to pull a silver quarter.
The young kid following Nate around told Nate that the area use to be a graveyard.
We hunted the school until we both got hungry. After we had some lunch we headed to the park. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the park (about 40 minutes) but it has potential. Nate and I each found a few wheats which is a good sign.
Sunday the 15th
Nate had some luck at the site we call the Iceberg last weekend when I was in North Carolina. So we went back there today. It was warm and we didn’t bring enough water but the silver was popping up regularly so we were happy.
Also found a 1903 Indian Head in with my wheat pennies when I started cleaning them.
HH all,
Bob
