Weekend produces nice Civil War relics......And a jealous fat cat.......

Hi All,
Had some good hunting time this past weekend with Sentinel. We found a new spot that seems to be producing more then just mini's. I found a total of 4 Eagle buttons in the area thus far. One bullet below has a hole thru the nose of it. I assume this one was jammed and they had to pull it back out. I'm not sure of one item posted. It is about 2 inches long and made of brass/copper. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, Sentinel has found a CW ax minus the handle. Thanks for looking and hope to post more in the coming week.

Yes, it is a great spot. I have been busy over the weekend but will post my finds tonight. I found a couple of things that are odd as well.. OH and I only got two eagle buttons, Ronin beat me there with 4...but as he said, I found a VERY nice Civil War era axe blade in the side of an earthwork. Probably was used for felling trees. Also, that was a good ID DCMatt. I looked at that object with Ronin and was stumped, but had not had the time to try an ID it, so GLAD that you did

Thanks Gypsy, yes Ronin and I are alot alike when it comes to TH. It takes good research, as you already know to find these spots. Found a nice tin type last week but what we really want is a breast or waist plate. Those are hard to come by though....You can guess what kind of signal they give off when you come across them....so it is logical to me that they were probably the first things picked off when detecting became so big in the 60s Oh well, gives us something to look forward to and so our search goes on.

Hi Nana, I tell you it's nice to share a hobby with someone that is as driven as you are. Won't be long before the Breastplates and buckles start showing up.
