Hi All-

Went out detecting this evening at an old school my son had fallball practice at.

Found this weird 1974 penny and was wondering if anyone has any info on it.

Basically it is a 1974 penny with a box on top of the date with the letter CO in the box.

Picture below, hope you can make it out, I took the picture through my magnifying glass so you could see it better.

Awesome and interesting!

Sorry but it is just Post Mint damage by someone with too much time on their' hands using some sort of stamp!

Sorry frank, I was a roofer for a reason, I'm a little on the dense side. do you mean that someone just stamped it? Or the mint did at the end of minting it?

Someone stamped it after it left the Mint! It was not done at the Mint.

Any reason why it would be stamped?

I can identify this one because i have a full set of them! They made collectable sets of Pennies with every state stamped on them. You have the Colorado one. :)

Cool, thanks ATPro!
