Weird buckle. Never seen one like this. Cannonball guy....HELP

Hey guys. I found this near an old river ferry site. I pulled a lot of modern stuff like old axe heads and stuff out but found this one deep. Historic aerials had this site as trees back in 1949. No telling before that though. Cannonball guy. I know your out there.


Looks like some horse tack but I haven't seen one like this before
