Thanks

Petrified golf ball core. Hold a lighter under it and see if it stinks.

If it's not old hard rubber, it's a weird hollow rock. Rocks can be really weird sometimes. I have a round one that is iron stained so it looks like grapeshot. But it's a rock. :icon_scratch:

Ahh, the most important question here is did ya catch anything?

Geo Fact. Many are found in creeks that are spring fed from underground caves of limestone. Some have flint or chert cores. Always fun to find and always mistaked for indian paint pots.
Have fun and good luck in your hunts.

Wonder if the formation is volcanic like a geode (aka, mud ball...thunder egg)...igneous formation

While searching in England I have found a number of perfectly round stones. Never broken them open to check to see if they are hollow or not though.

Yep same as a geod sometimes they have crystals in them sometimes not. I think I have a couple on my desk as I type

Not a geode but rather a concretion, one that has lost its original core. Still a rock, but a cool one. :icon_thumright:

Looks like a fossilized half-olive to me  any rocks around that look like martini glasses?

These are some of the rocks I find in England. Some are perfectly round, really funny to find them. In this photo not all are round, but a few are. The rest of my good ones are in the garage in a box.
