Found tonight. Upstate NY. North of fort edward.
 
Looks like a 1772 George iii halfpenny. Awesome find! I have found a few of these and the quality on the reverse of yours puts mine to shame. Congrats!

Nearly 1773 I think
 
It is as Crusader said a 1773 and is a contemporary counterfeit, which is typical of what is found in the States. Not many regal KGIII's circulated in America.
 
Congrats on that sweet coin, It's always great when you pull one with some detail and not totally toasted.

Nice counter KG. Interestingly, as Don said they're contemporary counterfeits, meaning they were being made around the same time as their regal counterparts. Very old - very cool.
