I'm away from all signals except FM radio, no phone, no electricity, no snowmobile, no ATV, I walk 6 km to my cabin hauling my essentials on my back and front sacks except for winter where I use a 6 foot long ABS sleigh, almost totaly cut from civilisation.

Nice Place you got there. When I was a teenager, I dreamed of living like that and being a marten trapper. I now live in an area where marten are found, but have grown soft in my old age.

Just wondering....How are you posting here without electricity?

Very Nice Whitebeard !

I Hope your staying Warm :icon_thumright:

Happy Hollidays !
Jeff

Looks like my kind of place. I love the outdoors and anything that has to do with it. Fishing, hunting, or just enjoying nature in general, I'm in ;D

My boyhood dream Whitebeard :icon_thumright: Still is!! Have a Great Holiday season and stay warm.

Great looking area and cabin. Did you build it? Got a dog with ya? My yellow lab should have her litter right around Christmas day if you need a good one.
My wife's great grandfather, Rufus Simpson, took part in the great Alaskan gold rush during the 1890's. He went from place to place following rumors of gold strikes. He mentioned in his letters home that there were plenty of ptarmigan to hunt. He didn't really know what they were, he referred to them as "white pheasants" ;D
btw........his letters home ended up getting published in a few issues of Alaska Magazine some years back. You remind me of his spirit.

Nice that you are mentioning about your G Grandfather as my grandfather was also there, he came back to Montmagny, Qc. two years later with some gold in his pockets and two of his brothers stayed and lived in Withehorse till they where in their 60's, his name was Odilon Létourneau and his brothers where Eugene, Oscar and Joseph but can't recall which of the two where up there.

I did not build the cabin it was given to me by the trapper that use to own it.

Yes I have a dog (man's best friend) and she follows me everywhere her name is Choo-choo and her father is a husky and mother labrador.

I guess I take from my granfather as he was also a nature lover. Thanks for offering me a dog and for your posting and may you and your family have a great holiday.
