OK! I understand after reading under Daily Picture, the pics where not taken on the same day I posted them, the snow wall where taken last February and the one sitting in front of cabin in April.

I wouldn't worry about it WB, we're all jealous about your cabin anyway :laughing7: . Anyone that complains about the the dates is a peewit and should be shot, just post more pics mate, dates be damned

Great looking area and cabin. Did you build it? Got a dog with ya? My yellow lab should have her litter right around Christmas day if you need a good one.
My wife's great grandfather, Rufus Simpson, took part in the great Alaskan gold rush during the 1890's. He went from place to place following rumors of gold strikes. He mentioned in his letters home that there were plenty of ptarmigan to hunt. He didn't really know what they were, he referred to them as "white pheasants" ;D
btw........his letters home ended up getting published in a few issues of Alaska Magazine some years back. You remind me of his spirit.
I've heard that Chicken, Alaska, got its name because they didn't know what ptarmigan were.

Good idea, the snow wall, whitebeard. We're gettin into the 0's and below at night now but luckily for us the mountains block the wind. We had more snow this week, and it took several minutes to dig out from under it. (haha!) We'll get about 12 to 13 ft. before winter's over but this year it's holdin back; only about 2 ft. so far. Stay warm. Feliz navidad y prospero año nuevo from all of us here in the Colorado Rockies.

Love the pics Whitebeard. Seeing them kinda reminds me of my favorite show as a kid, Grizzley adams. Take care. :hello:

Great pics Whitebeard. Looks real peaceful there.

Speaking of snowfall this pic from last winter shows a bivouac I have made a couple years back, had been absent for three weeks when it was photographed and was completly covered with 6 feet Approx. of snow, there wasn't even a bump visible and found it thanks to couple af spruce trees just beside it, it took me about 40minutes of digging with a snowshoe to get to open the door as my shovel was also burried, that's how much snow we can get here in such a small period. thanks for your comments.

Looks pretty far off the beaten path...........probably pretty hard to find.

Wow...got a little snow out there! Love it! One of these days, I'll get my cabin off the beaten path....what a dream place.

I would guess you don't do much coin shooting up there eh?

Wow, now that is a cabin! Love the Husky, had 3-4 Siberian Huskies when I was a kid growing up. They were very happy in the cold and snow and were powerful.
