WELL "BLOW MY MIND"

So the story goes, there was an old tavern in the county that played host to a number of well known Americans. Andrew Jackson, Davie Crockett and Danial Boon are reported to have stayed there.

I contacted the owner and requested permission to hunt the property. She said "you know there is a lot of history around here". Then she said "let me show you what I found in the flower bed a few years ago". She went into the house and in a few minutes she returned carring a small plastic bag which contained a coin. I removed the coin from the bag and the first thing I saw was 1784. Then Carolus.III and DelGratin. You can see a bust on the coin but the detail is gone. One the back of the coin is HISPAN.ET.IND R.M.F.M. a crown and shield .

The coin is a Spanish One Real I think.

Due to size I used my scanner for pics (poor quality)
Also pic of like coin I found through goggle.

Oh my the way...she gave me permission to hunt ..and It started to rain

Reales aren't usually worth a whole lot, but there one heck of a find because of their value back when they circulated. Folks looked high and low for those coins, if lost.

Nice work on getting permission for what should be a GREAT site for you. Dig those low-conductors! There should be some great buttons there, and probably a coin or two more as well.
