Well it ain't much.....

I was working at gutting out old plumbing and as few of those old time in the floor gas heaters today. The ones that are basically just a gas burner under a grill in the floor. When I pulled the first one out, I of course dumped all the many years of collected stuff out of it and started going through it. A guy I work with looked at me like I had finally lost it, and maybe I have with all the heat lately..... Second one I pulled out gave me a 1926 wheat, in decent shape, and an unfired .22 bullet. Like I said, it ain't much, but I found it. There's still one heater to go for tomorrow, so here's hoping it's the one with the gold ring in it.......

Re: Well it ain't much.....

Years ago a friend of mine lived in an old house with that kind of heater in the living room floor. His wifes wedding ring went down into it, he later sold the house and it was torn down.
Far as I know he never got the ring out before that, so yes, they can be in there. Keep looking!

Re: Well it ain't much.....

well, I ripped the last heater out today, and no gold ring. There was a gold colored 84 worlds fair pin though that got me going when I saw the round gold ring like edge. Not gold but neat anyway, also several dollars in casino chips for casinos that are long gone, and an old zippo with a root beer company name on it. I'll post some pics after dinner.....

Re: Well it ain't much.....

Got the zippo dated to 1953, and with a bit of cleaning it works! I'm going to send it in for an overhaul. Also totaled up th poker chips to ten bucks.....too bad the casinos are long gone, but they migh be worth a few bucks on e-bay.....

Re: Well it ain't much.....

Those casino chips may be worth something anyway. I understand they are collectable to the right people. Look up on Ebay and I'm sure you'll find something. Of course, you may be way ahead of me! Good luck.

Hahah.... didn't see your last post. Waaaaaaaaaaay ahead of me. The Zippos are collectable too. Found a few, had them repaired and gave them to friends of mine. Nice to find, nice to have!
