With temps in the low 50s and sunshine here this afternoon, I decided to hunt a permission that had a schoolhouse on it according to a circa 1860s map.
After about 30 minutes I start getting into iron and copper slaw. Dug a headstamp and a couple copper rivets that were supposed to be my first fatty Indian. Another hour goes by digging mid 1800s trash when the deus hits something round with an ID at 90-91. Hoping for my first large cent or a seated quarter, out of the plug comes an 1844 Canadian half penny token.
Hope to get back there in the near future to see what else comes out of the ground! image.webp

I'd be THRILLED to dig one of those down my way!!!!!!!!! CONGRATZ....

The local may have something waiting you will like. Let us know!

Cool to see the finds in our state! I hope to get that lucky this year.

I know you were hoping for your first LC, but that Half Penny bank token is a great coin in itself.
