I have a contract with my cell company (Telus) and I stated I wanted paper billing.
Well to "Save the Earth" reasons they opted out of paper billing "More Corporate $$$ for the bottomline" and I couldn't even get a notice or log on to their site.
Had all the late fees reversed, and have my paper bill delivered once again.

For online paying-we seem to do it through the banking portals.

Every time one has to phone any provider it seems like it takes 45 minutes to get a simple answer.......:BangHead:
 

No problems here, we pay all of our bills the old fashioned way - with a stamp !
 

Trezurehunter, you are BRAVE! I mailed my life insurance bill April 9 and its not there yet. So I set up an auto payment for today, which when both hit will screwup their system big time. I hope it becomes a pain for them. (I don't feel good today and it shows.)
 

You have to be careful with these schmucks. They will screw up your payments then hold it against you. I recently had to work through a 6 month fiasco with / for my grand parents. Long story short their bank offered a payment deferment during early days of covid. Then took possession of and held their insurance claim check (roof) $18,000!!! It required my threatening litigation and raising all kinds of hell.

Of course it shouldn’t figure I’m that the payment deferment they signed deferred $375.00 through a bank run program. Mind your Ps and Qs or these greed *******s will toss you on the coals over almost nothing.
 

I pay my utility bills with Bill Pay through my bank. It is completely controlled by me and the payments are electronically made, soon after I post them. Never a late payment or problem.
 

most of the time I pay on line.
if their site gives me an issue with my log in,
I call and tell them Flat Out you Don't want my Money
I take it it's free this month. their tone changes quickly .

other things I demand, a paper bill in the mail, which I never open.
They won't lower my Bill 50 Cents a month for Paperless, So I want my Money's Worth.

When I call & Get a Robot, I say Operator Loudly to Everything they ask, Till they Give me one .
I Don't talk to Machines, Or give Money to Machines over the Phone.

if they tell me their is a fee for paying over the phone, the fee can be waved, if they really want payment.
 

I have two attorneys on retainer (mainly due to estates and real estate matters) and I will eat their lunch! Make no mistake about it.

AND THE CHICKEN AND CAT BOOK IS IN FINAL FORMATTING!

These companies are getting worse all the time, and if you try to get through over the phone be prepared to have them say that "your call is important to us" and then wait 30 minutes for a live rep to pick up the phone. When they do pick up they tell you their name is Stephen but you know it really isn't. You can't even order a pizza over the phone lately without someone messing things up.

It is surprising how fast the call is transferred to a person.

It is just so much easier to pay through your bank’s bill pay rather than having half a dozen different log ins. My bank has most utilities and similar on wire transfers so I authorize payment today and they will receive it tomorrow.
 

Yeah, my friend's bill pay got hacked and whoever it was got her for over $5k by putting in a new "pay to" and she didn't get the money back.
 

Yeah I kind of noticed all the modern easy way of doing things can be no more efficient than before. I just finished my work experiences tonight. All done with pen and paper. It'll be in the mail tomorrow. Now when the reimbursement check comes back in the mail, I do go hi-tech, and photo scan the check to deposit it through the airwaves.

I get paper bills for everything except a local storage place, and use
the banks online system for paying bills. It's efficient as all get out,
and I've got digital data showing who got paid what.

I on on Medicare and Medicaid and the Nuts call me and I put the phone on quiet mode while I am bed and when I am up, I only call people who I know.
