Actually, upon further thought, this may not be an amusement token, but a giveaway by the Wells Fargo company, or perhaps something that was used in the WF headquarters - for instance it might have worked in a vending machine in the company cafeteria. The WF website says:
... we will provide what information we can if you send us a picture and whatever you know about the item.

Please write to:
Wells Fargo Historical Services
420 Montgomery St. A0101-026
San Francisco, CA 94163

For further information, you can check the book by James Bartz, Company Property, (the Westbound Stage, 1993), which you can order at http://www.westboundstage.com.

Thank you so much for the info! You Rock!!

Neat find, wonder how it made it down 9 inches, cuz I do believe it's a modern one as well.

Did you ever find any more information on this coin? I bought a desk at a yard sale and when I was moving into the house the same coin fell out. Thanks

I had just found the same token myself about 4" down. Same thing it sounded like a quarter on my fisher f5 with the NEL Hunter coil.
