Went back to a old beat up permission and got some silver!!

A friend of mine gave me a new set up to go try out and I must admit I like it whether it was a coincidence or not I found the barber dime next to some old plugs so I must’ve missed it. Call it what you want, but I’ll be using this set up for now on. I don’t get buckles that much, so this is the best one I’ve ever found, the war nickel is a 1942 and a 1903 O Barber dime. I probably would’ve got a lot more wheats but obviously the roofer was drunk and spilled about 500 roofing nails everywhere. Very pleased with the results.

Georgian? It has a shape of the batwing CRUSADER over the last 2 hours I’ve more about buckles then I ever knew. I give up!!!

Sorry, I was hoping you weren't going to say it was an 18th C Batwing derivative, it's a commonly held myth on the internet. (so glad your hopes were not high) & glad no-one chimed in on that one...lol

Yours is most definitely a Horse Harness Buckle of the mid-19th C. (difficult to narrow the date as they were around for awhile, some slipped into the 19th C) It's most likely brass & the off-set central bar indicates it's for thick leather on a horse.
