IN THE FIELD BY 8 AM TO BEAT THE HEAT. PULLED 4 TRIANGLE POINTS, A MUSKET BALL, ANOTHER LEAD SEAL, AND A BROKEN JESUIT RING!!! BUT I GOT THE GOOD PART. THE TOP ROUND PIECE-IXXI WITH A HEART. TRIED TO UPDATE TO THE LAST POST AND NOT SURE IF IT CHANGED THE TITLE SO YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW. THE PICS ARE ONES FROM THE FIRST POST BUT HERE THEY ARE AGAIN, PLUS A THIRD. THREE JESUIT RINGS IN THREE DAYS, MY PERSONAL BEST:hello2: THE ONE FROM TODAY IS IN THE MIDDLE! View attachment A489 - 20180713_143006.bmpView attachment A487 - 20180713_141927.bmp

Three?!! Isn't that like something called a "hat trick"? With three different rings in the same area, a fella can't help but wonder that maybe to the Seneca's, the Jesuit's at first seemed OK, like blackberry bushes, but left unattended became something of a nuisance. Great finds vermontis, and a great place to find them.

THANK YOU SPRAILROAD! THE CRAZY THING IS THIS SITE COVER 12 ACRES .. TALK ABOUT A NEEDLE IN HAY STACK.

Awesome finds and in a great condition! Congratulations!

Killer finds, you are sure cleaning up that place...keep up the good work! :occasion14:

I'm surprised this post doesn't get more comments. That new Auspice Maria ring (and the other two) is awesome and you can't really hope to get any older colonial finds than those ones. I actually found the same part of IXXI ring a few years back. I don't believe it broke off as I did find the ''top'' part of the rings of different designs as well. Here's the pic of mine as well as an other ring I've found that is complete.

Yes, but WHAT a haystack it is. Seems that not only is there more than just one needle, but I'm thinking that one has the whole sewing kit as well. Have fun with it, as we all know you are.

Most excellent finds and congrats on the Jesuit ring trifecta! Agree w/Aureus that these finds should garner more comments. These are such uncommon colonial finds (as opposed to standard flat buttons, old coppers etc) many folks probably don't know the back history of first contact with the Senecas and other regional ethnic groups. Man what a wonderful place you have there, and 12 acres. I'm sure there will be numerous other return trips for you in hopes of finding more needles!
