wellllll.....i just ordered the e trac from kellyco. call me COOL or call me a FOOL i just couldnt resist the hype. i never thought i would lay out 1600 big ones on a metal detector.special shipping becuz im impatient added another 100 dollars. ive never wanted anything so bad in my life before AND I HAD TO HAVE IT !! I shure hope its worth it. if it will just arrive undamaged and working properly that will be step one. i have been on the web almost constantly the past few days trying to decide which used machine or vs new or vs other brands. i finally decided now that im retired i will be doing a LOT of detecting .in the past price was always a big issue. still is but i decided ONE FIND CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. i think thats from texan connection. since im into tolkien lets say im looking for the ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL !! I DECIDED get the best and work down if u need to. hopefully i will be enough of a detectorist to use this machine. now i will have whats considered the best coin/ jewelry machine on the market. WISH ME LUCK ;D

Good luck scrounger. Learn that machine and I hope to see some awesome finds from you in the near future. Go get 'em.

Yeah, that E-trac looks like a mean machine. I'm sure when you learn what it's telling you, you'll be diggin' up the good stuff. Glad you liked the beach pics, good time was had by all. I would like to make it to the vortex springs hunt, but I don't know, we'll see. If not then I'll see you on the beach.

Congratulations!! I can't wait to see how well you like it...all that hype and have not even seen one in person yet! lol

Wow... $1600 is a lot. I've spoken to several guys who can get them from their local dealers for a little over $1200.

Great detector I have one and like it a lot so far. Good luck with yours and keep us up to date. Get it from a local dealer next time I am also not a big fan of Kellico. But hey they have them so you have to do what you have to do. Just good to have some one local to ask questions and with a purchase like that maybe even get them to take you to one of there good spots.

i called several smaller places.none had them in stock ready to ship.i paid 1498 like everyone else. i paid xtra for overnite delivery.also kellyco does give xtras.i know they arent worth anything like what they say they are but they are worth something.also i like a company that is big enuf to always be there.if there is a problem i want to talk with someone NOW. they give the sales reps cell numbers right on the website, someone is there live til 11pm eastern. i want a real customer service dept. so many times the small places are closed one weekday.or gone til next week[ prob out hunting somewhere] or gone to relatives.whatever.im not that patient.

I've been hearing from quite a few folks who have gotten the E-Trac... all I can say is that you guys better be ready to review that thing!! I wanna know how it works for a real user!!!

I don't think that price is really a big deal as long as it lasts which usually metal detectors do. My first Explorer XS cost me over $1,600 Ca. $$ at the time so a 2008 E-trac isn't really over the top expensive in my books. I'd love to try one but am much too happy with my current XS to bother.

aaawwww, come on iron patch. you know you want one

If I wanted one I'd have one. :D

My XS does so well where I hunt I think of it as being impossible to get better, especially if the E-trac is as different as some say it is. Maybe I'm not reading enough forums other than the T-net but I don't see too many long time Explorer users jumping on board. I'd like to see what they had to say.

there is such a forum where people are documenting both success and failure , likes/ dislikes and such with the E-Trac. it seems really to be both ways, those that love the E-Trac and those that are still fighting with it- makes for interesting reading @findmallforums...
