Well it gave another V up a 1907. This spot has 3 500 yr old oaks in a 30”x 30” area. I’ve gotten over 30 V nickels out this spot and nothing else not even Buffalos. But today it also gave up my first buckle and a 2 piece button also a first. This is a Western Union button Backmark is "Browning King & CO. W.B.C.O.” Alberts book says its c.1860 to at least 1934 but nothing else. If anyone knows more I’d love to hear it.

Great day today!

Keep going. The gold is waiting for you.

Holy smoke,,,, 30 V nickels in that one area? That's more than I have found in 25 YEARS!!! Cool button too.

Oh man very nice button!!! Bet it looked like your future gold coin when you opened up the hole!!!!!!

WOW ! If that place is near a railroad track it would explain where all the nickles came from. "The Grey V train"

Hehehe awesome find!

Slamming hunt!! You found the bullet patch and the V nickel patch, you are going to find that gold patch :icon_thumleft:

I know I’ve never found another V nickel anywhere else. My earliest was a 1898. It’s like somebody just threw a handful as far as they could. And of course I can never find a couple in a hunt they’re always one at a time. But it’s detectorists like you that remind me how fortunate I am with V nics.

Funny thing is my pin-pointer was falsing out and I didn’t see anything. So when I was swiping the chucks of clayish mud back in the hole I got a very slight beep. I cracked that clump open an saw that gold button (gold anything) I almost died. One day I pray I find a coin coin once in my lifetime.

You are steady, steady, steady with those old Nickels. Nice finds!

Isn’t that strange though. 2 patches where you find hardly nothing else but that one particular thing. Strange things happen to me like that I also have two places where I’ve found a SLQ and the rest has been clad and st another park the first time I went I found a 1900 Barber Half nothing else and nothing since. I was just dropped because it was deep a very black. I still hard to excepting that park only had that. Weird

Great find buddy!!!! Well done...

Cool hunt. Those v nickels are a beautiful coin IMO.

You're killing it on the nickels.
That Western Union Button is in excellent condition.
Congratulations

I know and it find them all the time more than anything else. I’ve been using my F75 more these days. I’m find more things on the F2 mode.

Does your f75 give you a higher reading on deepish older nickels? Mine tends to up average them often. Not complaining though!
