Well it gave another V up a 1907. This spot has 3 500 yr old oaks in a 30”x 30” area. I’ve gotten over 30 V nickels out this spot and nothing else not even Buffalos. But today it also gave up my first buckle and a 2 piece button also a first. This is a Western Union button Backmark is "Browning King & CO. W.B.C.O.” Alberts book says its c.1860 to at least 1934 but nothing else. If anyone knows more I’d love to hear it.

Great day today!

That button will come up nice in lemon juice. 5 minutes at a time, brush with tooth brush whilst rinsing under water. If you don't want the back to turn a reddish-brown you can use lemon juice on a cotton bud & do the front only. It going to transform it, with no risk.

Excellent recoveries mate. I do love V nickels. Silver coins are nice but, I really love the patina on nickels and copper coins. You have an amazing collection of nickels my friend. That Western Union button is way cool as well. Gold waits for you buddy.
