Went today for a couple of hours.

Found some CLAD and a junk earring, and then I thought I found a gold earring, but it isn't. Maybe next time. It's colored gold and pretty heavy, but no markings. As I was heading toward the steps off of the beach I got a hit, dug it up and it was a zinc penny. Went over the spot again and got another hit, another zinc penny. This went on until I had a total of 27 zinc pennies. The hole was about 2 feet wide and about 2 feet deep by the time I stopped getting hits. Pretty cool, too bad they weren't quarters........

Nice haul tb! Those coin caches are cool, 27 is a lot. I had one with about 6 in it at a park the other day. Thanks for sharing and the pics!

i had some digging buddies in town couple months ago and they hunted up by the concrete wall and found many many coins........................

normally there are not many people that sit up that close.................one would wonder where all that clad came from.

that is what makes this hobby exciting................last may i hit a spot and dug one silver ring...........i thouhgt.........as i was leaving that spot, i hit another siginal and then and then...........all in the sand i had dug out of the one hole

take a look at this stop...............i found the girl from tallwood hight school in about 5 days or so.......one was a class ring............she said she had taken them off and laid them on her blanket.................u know the rest of the story.

Whenever I find a lot of pennies together I call the place a penny cemetery...
I think that people get tired of carriyng them around and just throw them away at a single spot....
