Well the time has come...

I am leaving West Jersey in a little over a month. I am moving across the state to the coast and with it I am leaving what has become my favorite part of the state. Gloucester/Salem/Camden/Burlington counties have become very treasured to me over the past 4 years. I have fallen in love with the farmland and the rich history that lurks below the soil.

Yesterday I headed to my favorite local hotspot for some detecting. I saw the farmer plowing on Saturday so I decided to steal away for a few hours on Sunday. Sadly, someone had beaten me to it but thankfully, it is a massive property with room for everyone. I stuck to the perimeter of the plowed area and was rewarded with a nice D buckle, a piece of cut sterling, and a nice 1864 bronze IH. The weather was perfect and it was truly beautiful being out there detecting. Just the way I want to remember it! Thanks for looking...

Great finds:thumbsup: Congratulations:icon_thumright:

It's not too bad over here on the coast.
All summer long we get BENNYs depositing fresh silver and gold on the beach! ;)

Ben our state is super small... you'll be about an hour from where you're at now lol. This is a good move, the way our state is now with finding spots to detect, you're better off at the beach.

Dang Ben your moving allll the way to east jersey?! There's plenty of goodies out there too. Remember they came from that direction first going west. Good luck to you and we will get out still. Look at Arty he's all the way down in the cape!

Nice finds congrats!

Hey, Jersey! I've been following your posts for a while. You know what they say about love, right? "Better to have had love and lost it, than to have never had it at all." So too with your spots. You've pulled an amazing array of goodies from those places over the years, you should be proud! And, as others have mentioned, you can always go back 'home'.

P.S. - Don't know where you're moving, but, I'm in Bergen county. There's some great spots in these parts. I'm primarily an old silver hunter. Give me a shout if you ever want to go out ;)

Joe

Wow, great finds! Congrats and HH!

Guys: Thanks for all the warm wishes!

I am moving to the the Jersey Shore but it will technically be in the Pines! That's right, I'm gonna be a PINEY!
I am sadened to be leaving my hunting buddies, the SJMDC, and my local coin club. I guess I will have to find new clubs to join and I will have to take day trips to hunt with my old buddies at my old spots.

Not being from NJ, I'm sure your new location will give you new territory to hunt. WTG on a nice hunt as well.

I lived in tuckerton quite a few years ago....love that area. I miss the jersey shore a great deal and hope to get down there this summer. Good luck on the move and keep on diggin!

I have not heard the term BENNY in such a long time, LOL.

Well, I think you're going to have the best of both worlds. It's not like you're moving to the West coast! Your favorite spots will only be an hour or so away and you can still pound them. On second thought, leave them for me and NJLARGECENT ;-) I am happy to travel to the Southwest of the state for those types of relics!!

Enjoy the summer, and Sandy may have populated the beaches with a lot of Spanish silver. It awaits you.

Great finds.like that IH penny.Hope the move goes well.
