FALL RIVER, Mass., Oct. 31.--A find of buried treasure down on the Horse Neck, Westport, this morning, has created some excitement in this city and Westport. no its westport MA, I was just MDing there on sat at Horseneck beach

There is a book of old Westport ,pics and stories of the old time. Good for research !! You ca prolly get at local mall or online. p.S. your in a great spot to detect!!!!! Good luck:):)
 

Went to check out horseneck last week,, dry sand is loaded with trash , nails, bits of fence,etc not even a penny after 2 hours wet sand was devoid of targets except a silver ear ring part and a target that I have to back for as it was just above the low tide line and hole would fill with water and sides caved in couldn't dig fast enough to find target but signal was strong.. I'll post what ever it is when I go back with something to sure the sides of the hole up. Here's pic of the ear ring.

Bristp, I would love to meet up one day. I live in Dartmouth. All I have is a cheap metal detector but it sounds like fun.
 

Well I hate to be a buzz kill on this but Horse neck beach is in the national sea shore system. Just look at the shore system maps for Ma. Don't get caught?
