Re: What a GREAT day!

First, congrats on finding the ball. Is it a solid shot, or explosive? (does it have a fuse anywhere on it, or is it just an iron ball?) Solid shot, just electrolysis. Otherwise, it'll have to be "de-milled". That takes an expert, meaning DON'T try it yourself.

Re: What a GREAT day!

I rinced it off and it has a round spot on it about the size of a half dollar. Is that the fuse?

Sounds like it is, but it looks like the borman fuze is missing. Where the spot is, is it iron or can you see a silvery disc in it? If it has a fuze you will be able to see it. Take something like a screw driver and dig around to see if it's just a hole, if so it's safe to clean. HH

I'm no expert but I don't think you should be digging around the fuse area of a cannonball with a screwdriver. :dontknow:

I found one before, but it was broken. This one is in nice shape.
Can anyone tell me about the clip on the pocket watch? This is the first one I've seen.
