Well I decided to get started today searching halves for 2008. I drove around the country and back stopping at banks all over. First bank had some halves held for me. I picked up $310.00 worth rolled from the fed. I then went to about twelve other banks over the day. I found only four that had any halves at all. Three had halves but between the three of them they could only come up with about $60.00 worth of loose change. >:( One of these banks had a teller that was helping me who opened their draw. I saw some large dollars and halves in her drawer. I asked about them and she said those were the ones she had saved for herself >:( >:( >:(. Crap!!!!!!!!! As you can guess I didn't find any silver halves from that bank.
I then went to a bank that finally had halves in bags. I bought almost $300.00 more from them.
Got home and we searched through everything!

Out of all that, only
1 1974 Ike Dollar found in a bank tellars drawer. Not the same one as above!
3 40% Kennedys
3 Of the Kennedys that are not supposed to be in circulation, 2003, 2004, 2006

THATS IT!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:(

My wife has not even found anything in the last few boxes. She started off strong but is starting to get discouraged. Hope it picks up soon. Have another $1000.00 dollars in halves ordered and about $100.00 dollars left to go through tomorrow.
Wish us luck!

Well atleast there was something, but better luck to ya for the rest of the year!

That's it? At least you got a few!

I did $1,000 worth today, my first bag of the year, and I got ZERO. Nothing at all.

It's early in the year yet, things'll get better for ya. Could be in the next box you pick up!]

Thanks! Sure it will. Sorry to vent online just having trouble getting through these slow boxs right now. With gas at $3.16 a gallon here for regular its hard for me to drive around to all these banks for so little. But there is hope I see it every day here on this forum. Nice finds Guys and gals.

I wish I could by gas that cheap. It's $3.45 here in Cali. That's OK, a couple 90%ers gets me down the road to a few more banks. You have to pay to play. Don't let the price of gas hold you back, there is always another CRHer on your heels....LOL

Your coin is a 1971 Mexican 1 Peso coin (http://tinyurl.com/2aqzpz). It was minted between 1970 and 1983, and made of cupro-nickel. In the early 1990s, the Mexican Peso was revalued into the New Mexican Peso at a 1000:1 ratio. This means your old coin is virtually worthless, worth $0.0000915 at current exchange rates.

Thanks! Guessed it would not be worth much but I got it out of a coin machine mixed in with $23.00 in halves. Oh well thanks for the info.
Also to everyone elses posts, I'm not giving up by any means, have a goal to find 1000 silver halves this year. Only 997 to go, HA HA ;D

Man that totally sucks, just keep at it, you never know when a silver depositor will strike next!
