Just a few general photos of the large variety of "stuff" I have been surface finding on old cart ways. The property is very large and was "common land" from the settlement of the town in 1633 until it became a private estate in the 1720's. Porcelain sherds are by far the most commonly found item. Coal, and what seems to be slag are also found in large quantities. Recently, I have been paying more attention and have discovered a few pieces of what looks to be shell tempered pottery? In this first post I would just like to know whether I should continue looking and collecting or if my time is being wasted on junk. Thank you for your time.
