Hi. I have always had a thing for finding goodies, but only recently have got the itch bad enough to start scratchin'.
I am a diver and like to play in junk fields looking for bottles and well anything I can find. I have found a couple of cool bottles and some bits of china etc. I would like to start digging bottles and other artifacts, but I have no idea on how to begin around these parts.
I also dabble in gold panning but other than a flake or two have been unsuccessful.
I like to rock hound to but again not very good. Have found bits of Rodonite, a couple fossils, some "young" crystals, gypsum, but not much else.
I want to get into some metal detecting both above and below water, but need to figure out which would be the best detector for my needs.
If anyone has any information or resources on any of these or related topics inB.C. and specifically Vancouver Island, I would appreciate the help.
