Out of a chilly November hunt Saturday. Have a look at some of the stuff i found and see if you can identify the age of any of it. It's mostly bullets.

Here's some other finds of the day
20191117_141127.webp20191117_141142.webpThis was buried deep. Much deeper than the minie balls i've found. It looks like a jack i think. When were jacks invented?

The center object in the last photo looks like a toy (bi)plane. Does it feel heavy for its size? If so, it could be lead.

If it is over 1" and closer to 1-1/2" tip to tip it might be a caltrop. Yours looks MUCH smaller.

The bi-plane is not made of lead. I'd assume its some ww2 kids toy. It's strange the stuff you find out in the middle of nowhere. The jack is in the same boat i think, definitely not big enough to be one of those caltrops.

The jack thing looks like a spur to me.

The 'jack' object looks to be made of cast brass, so I don't think it's a kids toy. :icon_scratch:
I had to 'Google' this definition, because I'd never heard of a 'caltrop' before. :laughing7:

Here's a Roman example.
Dave

"A caltrop is an area denial weapon made up of two or more sharp nails or spines arranged in such a manner that one of them always points upward from a stable base. Historically, caltrops were part of defences that served to slow the advance of troops, especially horses, chariots, and war elephants, and were particularly effective against the soft feet of camels. In modern times, caltrops are effective when used against wheeled vehicles with pneumatic tires."
