The first one looks like a broken spear point.........is it metal? Put under MD coil.

Those are ice plugs for horse shoes, have you ever seen horse shoes with big holes in them? These plugs are driven into the shoes to give traction on ice, mud, etc.

Great ID Bruce, here's video of ice harvesting that shows the horseshoes using this type of ice stud, they were also used in logging and of course anywhere there's was horses working on ice.

I only knew about them cause I found a can of them in my grandfathers barn as a kid and my Dad told me all about them, he grew up using draft horses on the farm.

I have been finding them also I figure they were off of a tractor wheel from before the days of rubber tires. Now I know what they are. Sure don't want that horse is stepping on your foot or kicking you in the head LOL

I sure don't want a horse stepping on my feet, I don't care if he's wearing ice cleats or high top Reeboks, even a small horse weighs like a thousand pounds!
