Hello all, at one of my permissions, next to the garage/shed I found these three items about six to eight feet apart. Two last weekend, and one today. They appear to be copper or brass. Any info about these would be appreciated. The best I can come up with is copper etchings, but that doesn't tell me much, like what these were used for. Thanks! Printing press plates.

I figured they were used in some sort of printing with all the print being backwards. They are all holiday oriented, two Christmas, one Easter.

they should be composed of lead with a heavy copper plating on the face. the small holes are where they were attached to wood blocks by very tiny tacks/nails. Based on the font styles, I'd date them to circa 1915

Ink em up and press them on some paper, those look super cool. I think some can be pretty collectible.

Or, just go hold them up in front of the bathroom mirror! Works every time!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Mirror... light dawns over marble head!!
Thanks all... appreciate all the info!

It would be cool to see what the prints are. I tried to read it backwards but I think it is another language.Maybe for making your own Christmas cards. You can get ink at a hobby store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

Very cool finds!

Looks like Irish Round script. Some sort of stamp for the holidays.

Nice work Jeff! I'd use these to make home made christmas/easter cards, or maybe you could sell them to some crafty person to make vintage style cards.

Yes, printing plates. I found one a number of years back, put a light coat of ink on it, and stamped away ! It looks nice to see it on paper. Nice relic find.

Very nice job Jeff... thank you!
