What are these?

I have now found five of these cross type objects in one small area. I don't think that they are furniture brasses. They appear to have been nailed to something rounded as they all have the same pronounced arch. Any ideas?

Seems like they could be corner pieces from an old "steamer" type trunk.

I don't think so...the shape that it is in now is it's actual shape...it is hard to see in the pic but it is slightly rounded or arched where it was affixed to something...

Could very well be trunk decoration. The retaining straps to keep the trunk closed could have run through them.

Looked a little deeper into the trunk corners angle for your items, Romeo, and found this picture of quite an assortment of trunk hardware. None exactly match but are pretty close and there's alot of trunk types, so maybe, maybe not.

These are cool.
They are hardware for a domed steamer trunk.
I have a couple of these type.
This particular piece goes along the front and back edge of the top,
They help hold the leather the trunk was covered with in place.
