What could this be?

I don't know what this could be. I am thinking a hinge of some sort. The holes are inset a little on the side of the last pic. The side facing the camera in the first pic does not seem meant to be seen.

Looks like the stationary part of a window latch to me.

But upon further review, I agree with the toilet seat hinge, because of the hole.

RW has a point. Hinge part for opening and closing exterior window shutters. Were you looking around old home sites?
