Hello All. I found this a few days ago at a small town home site on FL's east coast that has produced all manner of stuff including an 1864 British Farthing and many late 1800's to 1920's home and personal items.

Too thin and small to be a watch fob and too clean to used a lot. Any ideas?

Going back tomorrow...thanks for the view and Good Luck. C9

Being stamped it may have been a cover or a two piece item. I have had some very small fobs in the past.

My Great, Great grandfather had and initialed one similar in gold color, circa 1898, on his pocket watch. Small also. Sub 8-)

Hello TnSC and Sub. Thanks for the replies...does make sense to use as a fob, it seems sturdy enough and a smaller lighter piece would work OK...maybe better than a heavy fob.

Must have been lost new or used very little...it's almost free of bad scratches and the relief is sharp.

Good Luck guys. C9

Women wore ribbons around their neck and in their hair and I've seen old paintings where there was some sort of medallion on the ribbon.
