It appears to be part of a badge or emblem. A waving flag, perhaps.

The characters on the left look like Japanese. The top one is likely the number '3'. The bottom one could be '10' (making the number 30) but it's hard to tell.

On the right a telescope?

Clean it up a bit to see if you can make the symbols clearer.

It is part of a trunk emblem from a 1960-1964 Chevy Corvair.

There has to be a rollover joke in there somewhere, being from a Corvair. ::)

Debunking the myth. Ralph Nader was wrong.

Sorry for hijacking this thread...

A Chevy Corvair ... "the site of an 1920s ww2 army air field practice training camp".

I awoke in a parallel dimension. Gonna need another cup of coffee.

I'll stick with the sheer magic of Mud Hut being able to pull that into a straight line.
Great id Mud Hut !

The 1959 Impala badge looks closer to the item. It's a little more "flowing".

I think you may be right. The lower right portion of the flag on the Corvair badge is obscured by the emblem. On the Impala badge, the flags aren't obscured.

Even GREATER ID!

One thing I have noticed is the original poster asks for help a lot , yet he never gives a green check to mark things solved. It's almost as if he takes everybody's help for granted.
