What do you do to stay cool?

Hey Everyone! Its starting to get hot here and its not even June yet. Its staying consistently in the high 80's and will be in the mid nineties this weekend. I'd like your tips on keeping cool. I dont want to lose any detecting time this summer because I'm a wuss in the heat. LOL Thanks!

Pour some Sea Breeze and water on a bandana, then wear around your neck. Makes you feel cooler for awhile.
Re-wet as needed.

Great idea! I even have some sea breeze in my bathroom cabinet! I'll give it a shot tomorrow!

I'm in Kentucky and its getting hot here to. I found a thing at Walmart that you soak in cold water then put around your neck. It stays cool for hours. I can't remember what its called, but it looks like short snake and feels like a bean bag.

I usually land hunt in spring and fall and water hunt during the hot months
its no fun hunting in the woods in the summer with bugs and poison ivy
and open field hunting in the sun with temps in the 90's is no fun for me either
if I got a "hot" spot - I'll ruff it out - got camelback and other stuff
but I love my water hunting in the summer

I found some of the cooling bands at walmart today and even one that wraps around your head. I was so happy. LOL Ive been thinking about doing the water hunting only in the summer too. Other wise Im afraid I'll wimp out and not go. And I dont want that!

I use a CamelBak year round. May through end of September it's hot here to say the least. One of the things I Do is to use chilled the water in the bladder. Then I put crushed Ice in it to get it even colder. With my cold pack on my back I'm able to hunt longer in our desert temptures. I also use a bungee from the sholder strap to the detector to help with the weight of the detector . That way my arm is mostly steering it insread of carrying it.
