Just started CRHing a week or so ago and gone through about $400 in rolls. Found nothing so far... Today I bought the bag at my bank $845 and there are Ben's and other silver visible in the bags... that got me wondering.

What do you do with the silver coins when you find them? Specifically, do you just store them in jars, rolls, safe deposit boxes?

Thanks and I am looking forward to posting my results on the bag. This is an addicting pastime.

I sort them by date for the Kennedys and by type for other Pre-Kennedy silver halves and put them into plastic rolls... ;D

I put Walkers and Franklins in coin tubes and I have 2 bags for Kennedy's. One for 40% and the other for 90%.

The older stuff that is 90% i melt, Barbers, walkers, Bens, Kens etc, the40's I ship off to a larger refiner to melt.
The clad gets spent around town at dinners, grocery stores, fast food office supplies, gas, and other expenses.
To get too the silver I try to depopulate the banks the best I can of clad, there are so many people out there that think they are worth something that they buy em from the register and keep em. The more people that are hording the clads the better. get em out there in the publics hands.
