Looks like a D, did you post it on the coins forum? D.

Looks like a big D

Looks like an s to me also by the top right corner of the mintmark it looks too blunt and straight to be a curved d

If you got it from a coin dealer he checked it out. Even in that poor condition he could get more money than that from a coin collector trying to find that coin for a cheap price. You still got your money's worth in silver.

actually he has big bags of silver that he has not gone through and was selling it at 12.5 times face. I also pulled a couple of nice walkers, a SLQ, and a decent barber out of there. there is too many coins for him to go through and chaeck them all out, so its kinda fun for me to stop in once and a while to poke through it. thanks for looking and all of your opinions.

You are right, with tons of silver being turned in to dealers nowadays, they just don't have the time to go thru 'em. Coin is dumped on the scales, weighed, and paid.

I'd say S myself by the way the top of the worn letter looks.

s due to flat top

I would fill that d hole with it..... Never know for sure right? :tongue3:

"S" I found one too, and I just could not make it a "D" :icon_scratch:

since this was not a detector find, I decided to list it on ebay, sold last night for 26.00. not bad I guess only paying 1.25 for it.

Dude that is simply outrageous! Awesome profit margin there! ffd
