Detector(s) used
White's Coinmaster 6000 Di Series 3, Minelab Eq 600
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Besides the obvious...metal detectors, pinpointers, digger's, fuel consumption, etc. What are some of the things you spend money on to enjoy your MD'ing hobby?

Do you pay for online subscriptions to maps, historic sites on the net, pay admission to historic sites you visit, permits, doo-dads and what-nots?

I ask because i came across a site with historic newspapers on it and it isn't very cheap, but they have archives from back in the early 1800's for local places, plus other areas near by.
I can use my local library but parking is a premium there and it's about a half hour drive.

The link to the site for the news papers is:

What's it worth to you to detect?

How about:
internet fees
Mag subscriptions
Gloves
Food & water
lunches for land owners (a little kissing up never hurts)

Yes, definitely Internet service provider fees

Time spent, gas and oil, more detectors, park fees for state parks or county that charge.

Lunches, magazine subscriptions, and what ever else you think you need to enjoy the hobby.

I knew a guy that wouldn't buy a treasure mag. because he said it would cut into his "profit."

YOU MEAN THERES PROFIT????!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D

I have a mag subscription that I really enjoy (especially when I can't hunt because of the weather) and of course change at the library for the copy machine.

But I think the biggest investment is time, we can all use a little more of it, and of course it's priceless

Yea, I agree...T-net membership has gone a long way for me too. I love this site.
Haven't had a subscription to any TR mag in a long time...maybe I'll pick one up. Forget what kind of info is even in one.
The internet, come to think of it, for me...is a god send of info for places to hunt. Well worth the $$$.

Good single malt whiskey for the farmers at christmas.

Gasoline to get there.
Metal detectors, (Sand Shark for my first trip and Sovereign GT for my second and third trip).
Extra large coils. ( For all the detectors).
Books and maps.
Restaurant meals.
Hotel Room. (Five nights).
One whole night to get there.
One whole day to come back.
That was when I used to go to Florida's treasure beaches.
I was looking for gold from the 1713 spanish fleet.
Went three years in a row.
Never found anything of real value.
