What I Thought Was A Perfect Spot Turns Out to be a Dud....But I Eyeballed a Token!

I discovered a new median strip on Google Maps a few days ago. Yesterday I drove to this new place and was surprised to find most of the median had bull dozers and backhoes go through and turn over the dirt!

I started my hunt on the east end, just after turning on my machine I looked down and saw a half dollar size green disc laying on top of the dirt. I swept my coil over it and got no sound at all. Reaching down to pick it up I discovered that it turns out to be a Cal-Neva saloon token from Reno Nevada, it's made out of plastic! ...It still might be a good find?

The next four hours through the median on two sweeps produced 33 coins, 4 metal tokens, and one wheat penny. A military rank insignia pin on unknown origin was also dug. It was a little disappointing, but it was still great getting out between all these rain storms blowing through the bay area..

Man you exploit all the possible sites. Congrats on hunting that dirt patch. Not every hunt will be a great hunt, but you never know what's hidden there unless you swing your coil over it.
