What Is "CLAD"??

I'm anewbie so I don't know all the lingo yet. but I read everyone about "CLAD" What the heck is clad

clad is newer coins that have been dug like from 1980 on up etc......

clad coins are from 1965 and up with the exception of the halve all it really is a coin that is cooper a metal covering it

Thanks everyone I really appreciate the info. I was told by my Grandfather long time ago that there are no stupid questions but plenty stupid answers

Clad is the silver lining in coin shooting... don't find the silver? buy it with the clad you find. 8)

My definition of "Clad"

Pennies 1982 up are clad (I consider all memorials except 1959,
no better then Clad)

Dimes, Quarters, Halves & Dollars 1965 & up

Nickels 1960 & up (Just because I don't consider keeping any
Dated after 1959

Clad coins have been looked down on for so long by collectors that very few have been saved in uncirculated grades- the uncirculated versions of these shunned coins may become quite valuable in the years to come.
