Not much there to go on but will offer my best guess to what it is..............look like part of a clog clasp to me.The size would fit with the latch of yours being about the only thing missing.
Take Care,
Pete,:hello:
Couple to get the idea I'm thinking........

Hi friend. Another person, he told me, that could be a piece of Visigoth belt buckle. Is it possible?
Thank you!

Hey there & welcome to Tnet.To me it does not look strong enough & seems small for that. But that's all I can say.I've looked them up & see none that small & thin looking. To me it resembles a clog clasp from the 18th - 19th century.Maybe some of the Brits. will chime in on a thought.5th century over here is out of my league.:laughing7: Other then native indians. There's a couple of posters on here from over your way Hispan is one I know of he may could help ya.
Take Care,
Pete,:hello:

This style of buckle are wide and varied, and almost never identicle unless they were made in pairs. Early medieval buckles
