Based on your point about what appear to be mold lines from casting, I would agree. But I'm new to all this, too.

how did you obtain them--that might help -- bought from another --or found yourself?

The one on the left looks like a cast souvenir pirate coin.... The larger one looks like it could be a legit 8 Reale, look up "Pillars and Waves 8 Reale" I don't know enough about them to say from a pic, but there are some people here who do

Brother n law said they got it off some guy in belize. Said it was pirate swag. :laughing7: I think he's been had. I wont say what he spent on them.

i found the same doubloom and i was very excited till i saw the word copy on it and it had the molded line

There is a jeweler in san pedro who got ahold of some 1600's coins we found years back. He made molds of them and sold repros, not necessarily advertised that way. And then another jeweler bought a few real ones and made his own also. The one on the right is too round.
Shipwreck coins are very rare in belize so they are nearly all fakes.
